The adrenaline rush of watching Álvarez send absolute cannons into the stands isn’t the only thrilling sensation you’ll (hopefully) experience at Minute Maid Park this season. Come hungry and you can partake in some pretty exhilarating eating, too. Because, let’s face it, the ‘Stros supremacy may ebb and flow, but stadium snacks are forever.

Y’all know everything is bigger in Texas, so it obviously follows that the Astros’ ballpark grub rockets well beyond peanuts and Cracker Jack, with even classic hot dogs getting a distinctive Mutt City spin. Take advantage of that seventh inning stretch and grab some game time fuel at these best stands at Minute Maid Park.

Section 410
Did you know rockstar third baseman Alex Bregman had his own line salsas, barbecue sauces, and rubs? Well, he does, and you can get a taste of some of it via the Cajun Fries at this Section 410 spot. Crispy AF fries come dredged in Breggy Bomb Cajun Seasoning, served with Cajun aioli and hopefully a side of Fried Shrimp or Catfish ‘PoBoy because those are pretty bomb, too

Mezzanine
This longtime local favorite is new to the stadium this year, sporting Carnitas Tacos, badass Margaritas, and its signature dish: Sizzling Fajitas. Bonus points? The neighboring Hornitos Tequila Bar is on hand to wash it all down.
 

Section 420
Watch out, Red Sox and Yanks, the ‘Stros hometown can do Italian food justice, too. Hit this stadium-side trattoria for a Chicken Parmesan Sub, oozing with fresh marinara and mozz and finished with parm and fragrant basil, just like the Italians do.

Section 434
Stumble into grand slam smokehouse eats—from Brisket Sandwiches and Pulled Pork Sliders to Pork Belly-on-a-Stick and beautifully rendered, peppery crusted, meltingly tender Beef Brisket—at chef Ronnie Killen’s eponymous stand. Wait, weren’t you supposed to be watching a game or something?

Section 231
MLB stadiums across the nation have launched a #SeasonsInningStretch program this year, bringing the ballparks rotating selections of new, seasonally inspired food for a limited time. Minute Maid’s summertime offering is a ridiculously good take on a fried chicken sandwich—the Yellowbird Toss Up Chicken, where crispy fried tendies get a smattering of cheddar cheese, candied jalapeños, and Austin-born hot sauce company Yellowbird’s Blue Agave Sriracha, and it all comes stacked between two fat pieces of Texas toast.

Section 124
This small but mighty vendor puts out exactly what you would expect: a bangin’ roster of elote and pupusas. Get yourself some Mexican street corn, then choose from thick, Salvadoran-style griddle cakes stuffed with pork, chicken, or cheese and served with curtido relish and salsa roja for kick. And don’t forget a frozen paletas or two to keep you cool.

In addition to an all-star roster featuring things like freshly carved 18-Hour Smoked Brisket, Texas Reubens, and BBQ Loaded Potatoes, new to this season, The Butcher will sport a fat, buttery, and sugary sweet Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel.

Sections 111, 126, 408
These are “nacho” average Cheez Whiz–smothered stadium nachos (see what we did there?). This festive purveyor does ‘em up your way, loaded with toppings like green chile chicken, pork carnitas, and so much more.

Section 132
You have to love Houston because it’s exactly the kind of place a Quesadilla Cart can—and does—exist. Get the cheesy, crispy numbers filled with cheese, chicken, or fajita beef with all the proper fixins.

Section 156
Turns out, wings aren’t just for football, as proven by this Austin-born wing slingers, the brainchild of two UT students who found themselves craving late-night eats. Now you can gnaw on beautifully fiery hot wings from the comfort of your stadium seat—just be sure your hands aren’t too messy to catch that stray foul ball.

Section 226
Sure you can hit up the neighboring location of this casual Italian haunt (which is backed by Astros owner Jim Crane, by the way) before the game, but you can also feast on single-serving versions of its scorched and bubbly wood-fired pies while watching Verlander throw yet another hot one right at Minute Maid.

Section 154, 431
Featuring Czech-style sausages from Snook, Texas institution Slovacek’s, this cart hits a homerun every damn time. Go for the Crawford Bock + Cheddar Cheese Hickory Smoked Sausage, a collab with local favorite Karbach Brewery that has notes of garlic, black pepper, and malt.

Section 104
Any good ballgame deserves an equally good brew, and this beer garden—featuring seasonal crisp and hoppy numbers from O.G. Houston brewer Saint Arnold—has the goods.
